Easy Pie Dough

Everyone needs a basic pie dough in their back pocket! This is my go to pie dough recipe for everything from sweet to savory pies. It comes together very quickly and adds that homemade cozy vibe to any pie dish. Happy baking!


Easy Pie Dough

  • 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup cold vegan butter, grated or cubed (I use Earth Balance sticks)

  • 2 to 3 tablespoons ice water

Mix together flour and salt in a large bowl. Add in the cubed or grated butter and work it into the flour until you have pea sized flecks of butter. Slowly add in ice water. You may need less or more water depending on the moisture in the air. Add 1 tablespoon at a time and adjust accordingly. Mix until a dough forms. Roll dough into a ball and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before using. Remove from the refrigerator for about 10 minutes before rolling out on a floured work surface. Use in any recipe that calls for pie dough!
